Who we are
Emerson Vintage ("we", "us") is a watch dealer based in Louisa County, Virginia, buying and selling pre-owned wristwatches in the Washington DC metropolitan area. You can reach us at hello@emersonvintage.com.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to evaluate your watch and talk to you about it:
- Contact details you give us — name, mobile number, email address, and ZIP code.
- Information about your watch — model, reference and serial numbers, condition, service history, and any photographs you send us.
- Our conversation — the text messages and emails exchanged between us.
- Basic technical data — IP address and the advertisement or page that brought you here, so we know which of our ads are working.
- Identification details, only if we buy your watch — see "If we buy your watch" below.
How we use it
To reply to you, value your watch, make and negotiate an offer, arrange a meeting, complete a purchase or consignment, keep records of transactions we've made, and measure our advertising. That's the whole list.
We use automated tools, including AI assistants, to help gather details about your watch and draft replies. A human reviews and approves any offer before it is sent to you.
Text messages
If you tick the consent box on our form or text us first, we will send you text messages about selling your watch. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. Opting out of texts does not stop us replying to you by email if you'd prefer that.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party, and we never sell your phone number.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We share the minimum necessary with service providers who operate our systems on our behalf — our messaging provider, our email and cloud hosting providers, and the AI provider that helps draft replies — all of whom are bound to use it only to deliver that service to us.
We may disclose information where the law requires it, or where necessary to report or investigate a stolen item.
If we buy your watch
Completing a purchase means recording the transaction: your name, address, a government-issued photo ID, and the watch's serial number, along with the date and price. We keep these records to establish clean title and to be able to identify a stolen item. They are not used for marketing and are not shared except as described above.
How long we keep it
If we don't end up doing business, we keep your enquiry for up to two years and then delete it. Transaction records are kept for at least five years, because we may need to demonstrate where a watch came from.
Your choices
Ask us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it — except for records of a completed transaction, which we're obliged to keep. Email hello@emersonvintage.com. Virginia residents have additional rights under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act; the same address reaches us for those requests.
Children
This site is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page.
